What am I running after?

Well, I made it to the gym this morning at 6:30 am, yeah quite the shocker couldn't believe it myself. I am so proud of myself ran another 15 mins. today and I love the weights! As I was running this morning I was thinking of all the things that are running in my life. I'm running to the grocery store, to walmart, target, the middle school, the elem. school, the bus stop, I'm always running after my two year old, yesterday we went running out to the curb to see the garbage truck. I'm always running, my washer and dryer are always running, my dishwasher is running about once a day. So, I long for the quiet moments of peace and tranquility, when I can sit down and rest or take a nap. I love quiet moments of scripture reading and prayer. I love the quiet voices of my children, or the soft whispers of my husband. Running and quiet, two different spectrums, but oh how I need both of them!

Pictures of California Pumelo, grapefruit knife, there are little ducks on the knife, it's eighteen years old.

Claifornia Pumelos

I love grapefruit, as long as I can remember I have loved this fruit. I found these ginormous grapefruit at Costco and decided to give them a try. They are actually called California Pumelos and they are delicous! That is one thing I have LOVED about living in California is the variety and sizes of fruits and vegetables there are here. They are much sweeter than grapefruit. As I was cutting up my new citrus fruit, I realized that my Mom was the one who introduced me to this fruit and she taught me how to cut it into sections and how to eat it properly. No one else here at the Kerr household shares my love for grapefruit so I get to eat it all to myself and I don't have to share with anyone (selfish thought). I also realized how much I love my grapefruit knife, I have had the same grapefruit knife for eighteen years. It was given to me in a knife set by my mother-in-law as a Christmas gift. I believe it was our first Christmas together (1990). I have since gotten rid of the rest of the knifes, but I have held on to this special grapefruit knife. I love it and you just can't eat a grapefruit without cutting it properly! So here's to all good things in life, cheers!

"Jesus in a bottle"

I love to have random acts of daily living. I definitely had one yesterday. I was dozing in the lazy boy and there was a knock at the door. I opened the door and it was a young African American kid selling some cleaner. He proceded to try and sell me the cleaner, telling me all the wonderful things about it. It was organic and safe to have around my children, telling me how cost efficient it was, he sprayed some on my front window and demonstrated after wiping how it doesn't leave any fingerprints, he scrubbed the grout in my entryway and that even came clean! Then he brought out a black Sharpie marker, said the cleaner could even get off Sharpie stains, so I said ok if your cleaner can get off my Sharpie marker stain right here on the wall, I will buy some cleaner from you. So he sprayed down the wall and sure enough with a little scrubbing the sharpie marker stain came off, but as he scrubbed the stain off the paint was coming with it. So I told him, "oh, look the paint is coming off tooo". His response was "It's not Jesus in a bottle, it can't do everything". I started laughing so hard. What a comment! I did end up buying some cleaner from him. But, I have been thinking about his commnet over and over. And I am so thankful and so blessed to know that Jesus can do everything, and that he has done it for me. Know it is only up to me to put forth the effort to do everything I can and know how to do to repay Jesus Christ for what he has done for me.
