Where did the month of June go?

WOW...where did the month of June go???? We were so busy, I think I tried to do way too much in June! My kids finished school on June 8th, Aaron had four weeks of swim lessons, Jacob and Abigail had swim team practices and swim meets, Tyler had cub scout camp and it was off to Utah for our annual Utah summer vacation, we left on June 28th and stayed until July 7th. We had so much fun, it was so nice to see famiy and friends and Jd and I were able to escape for two days and a night to Sundance Resort. What an eventful trip it was, it was amazing! And yes, I experienced my depressive, let down, self yesterday when JD went back to work and I had to get out of "vacation mode" and get back to reality. So, I did accomplish a little more today than I did yesterday. I am going to try and post a couple of my favorite photos from our vacation, hope your all doing well and keep in touch.

Traditions!

Where has the time gone? Today my kids finished another school year. We have a fun tradition in our house, the kids get breakfast in bed on the last day of school and they get to pick what they want to eat. This is Abigail eating french toast in bed on the last day of school. Jacob had Eggo waffles and strawberries and Tyler had oatmeal and milk. I love traditions, my Mom incorporated them a lot into her mothering, which I very much appreciate. Some of her traditions I have carried on into my owm family and some of them I have not. I am proud to have thought of this 'breakfast in bed' tradition on my own and it is something that we have done for four years now.

One of life lessons.....

This past weekend was a very difficult time for our family, we had to have coco put to sleep on Sat. afternoon. It was so sad. We had all come to love coco so much. He had too many internal injuries from his car accident on Fri.. Tyler and I were with coco when the dr. euthanized him. This experience has prompted a lot of dicussion in our family about death and dying and the resurrection. I even saw my husband get very emotional, which just for that reason I am thankful for this experience with my family. This experience has definitely brought us closer together and for that I am very thankful. We had a special famiy home evening last night with some friends who also lost their dog on the same day. I am thankful for the blessings of the atonement and for the knowledge that we will be able to see coco again.

Coco has become one of us

I never knew in a million years how much I could love a dog, unitl we got Coco. He is the cutest, mild tempered little puppy. Last night we had some bad drama with coco. He got out of the backyard and the kids were chasing him trying to catch him and he was hit by a car. The kids came running to get us and he was breathing, but he wasn't moving his back legs. I carried him to the house and tried to get him to cool down. JD and the boys were getting ready to go on a campout. We have two vets in our ward and we couldn't get a hold of any of them. Jd and the boys left for their campout. I was still getting very worried about Coco, I could tell he was still in distress. I called the emergency animal hospital in Visalia, they said to bring him right in. I packed Abigail and Aaron in the van and headed for Visalia, about 30 mins from here. They took Coco right back and started fluids and gave him some morphine. We left him there for a little while and went to In and Out. We came back and had to say goodbye to him for the night, they had to keep him there overnight. It was so cute how Abigail and Aaron gave him kisses. His pelvis was broken, right where the femur meets the pelvic bone is where it is broken, he will be on bed rest for awhile. We got home about ten oclock last night. It was an eventful evening. Abigail offered the best prayer for Coco last night she said, "please bless coco that he will be protected by the Holy Ghost". It was so cute! It was amazing how much we have come to love Coco.

A Good Day!

I love days like today where I just feel good all over and I just want to tell everyone how happy I feel. I was able to volunteer in Abigail's class this morning and that has always been a fun and positive experience for me, today was the last seesion I will be doing for the school year. It was sad, but I am so glad I did it. I then went and had a manicure and a pedicure, it was awesome, loved every minute of it. I then picked up Aaron and we went to one of our favorite places, Borders bookstore, which I purchased Stephanie Meyer's latest novel. "The Host". Can't wait to crack the spine on that book!
I then made hotel resevations for Sat. night, JD and I will be spending Sat. and Sat. night ALONE whoohooo, I am so excited! Anissa and Brent will have our kids (you guys are the bomb!). I also received an excellent report toady from Loretta and Lori Kerr, Loretta had cataract surgery today and everything went very well. Her vision is now 20/25 in the left eye. Before surgery it was 20/400. (I think). In another two weeks she will have surgery on the right eye. And then tonight it is baseball and a parent meeting for the kids' swim team they will be on this summer (Hanford Piranhas). Jacob, Tyler and Abigail will be on the team this year!
Have a good day and may all pleasant and happy things come your way!
