It's really ok?
I have tried and tested the concept of balancing to see how many dishes I can pile in the sink.
I wanted to see how long my kids could wear the same clothes day after day because I just haven't got the laundry done.
I wondered if my three year old will develop kidney failure after devouring 15-20 kids chewable vitamins.
I wanted to see how many times I could leave the driveway in one day. Tuesday I think I broke my record. It was a horrendous day!
I have come to realize that it is really ok that we don't get our outdoor Christmas lights up, even though everyone else in the cul-de-sac has theirs up and got them up the day after Thanksgiving. And our neighbors for the last two years in a row have won the city decorating contest.
I really can function with 3-4 hours of sleep a night, (not recommended).
I have learned that it's really ok to say "no", sorry folks, I can't be all things to all people. (even though sometimes I think I can).
Through all the crazinees this week has brought upon me, I have also learned that.....
I am extremely grateful for wonderful, listening friends
I am grateful for small answers to prayers
That being in an upright position and breathing in and out is a wonderful blessing.
I am thankful for laughter and the people who make me laugh, (my sisters and my brother--thanks!)
And I am most thankful for a loving, gracious, kind Heavenly Father who loves me and the knowledge that I have, that I am a daughter of God.

Birthday Highlights
Abigail getting ready to open her gifts.
Her request for dessert was vanilla ice cream with lots of toppings!
My favorite part of the party was this customized Bingo game I made from this website www.print-bingo.com. We used Skittles for the markers.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABIGAIL!
We love you Abigail! Happy 7th Birthday!

The Christmas Sweater
This book is amazing! Has anyone else read it? I loved every second of it. The author does a fantastic job of retelling what the true meaning of Christmas is all about. I highly recommend this novel for the Christmas season. Also, makes a perfect gift for the Christmas season. If you are a fast reader you could probably finish it in a couple of hours. Enjoy! Let me know how you like it?
What day is it? Random senseless thoughts
I have the sweetest visiting teaching superviser, she called last night to get my visiting teaching report for the month. I said "For the month of November, already, you've got to be kidding." I had to think to myself that yes, it was the 24th of the month. Just another mental note to myself that this year has gone by WAY TO FAST!
Time has gone by way too fast, I don't know what time of year it is. I went into the portrait studio today (to order my children's beautiful pictures) and they have decorated their lobby with lovely fall decorations, a scarecrow, pumpkins and beautiful fall leaves. And then I go to the music store and they are all decked out for Christmas, tinsel strung from here to there and bows decorating the countertops. It's not Thanksgiving yet. People, don't confuse me! I don't need anymore confusion in my life. Keep your decorations for the right season. But, one thing I have done to confuse myself is listen to Christmas music, my husband gives me a hard time because I have so many Christmas CD's. This year my favorites are
MercyMe Christmas Sessions
Casting Crowns Peace on Earth
Check them out, you won't be disappointed
Well, that's enough random senseless thoughts for the day. And all of you who check my blog:

A Night Out!
I have very sensitive eyes and I DONT do indoor pictures very well, my darling husband doesn't look too bad in this photo, at least we're both leaning in on each other, a little bit anyway. But, as for me about 99% of the time my eyes are closed with indoor shots. So, my husband says look above the camera.............
............welll, this is us "looking up". Yeah! we look like dorks! What are we doing? Gazing up into the heavens just thinking about our eternal relationship? Or is that we're just lost in the romantic monent? Or are we both so tired that we just want to go home and go to bed (I think we are getting too old)?

Blogging about Blogging!
1. Disneyland Trip---had a blast! Got cheap hotel prices through priceline.com. It was fun to see the Wickham's, Lori and Brenda.
2. Hospital Beam Signing Ceremony---so fun and so random! They are constructing a new hospital in our city. The last steel beam was ready to be placed. The night before this was to be done, the hospital hosted a 'beam signing ceremony'. Mostly administration and contruction crew was there. They had a nice tent with lovely refreshments. Everyone was able to sign the last steel beam. There were phrases on it, like 'bless all who enter', 'here works the best nurses', phrases like that, it was pretty cool. My darling husband wrote JK (heart) TK, it was so cute and adorable. We were also able to tour the construction site on golf carts, with construction hats!
3. Massage therapy and chiropractic care----SO NICE! I have never had a real professional massage or been to a chiropractic, but I am hooked. My back and neck have really been giving me problems lately, so off I went. After an hour massage and eight trips to the chiropractic I fell much better, I can actually turn my head without it hurting.
4. Trip to see sister (Kirsha)---awesome weekend! This is an experience where I learned to follow my heart and listen to the spirit and I did not regret it! Sister fun, it was amazing! Why sisters are special:
A. We got to share a large piece of chocolate layer cake with raspberries and raspberry sauce together at midnight!
B. I got to feed her newborn (6 wk old) a formula bottle because she was just to drained to nurse anymore.
C. I helped her move after a stressful landlord situation, with four kids in tow.
D. I was able to put her baby to sleep, with the 'bounce and sway' method I learned with my fussy baby.
E. I was able to make Halloween houses with Jane and Abigail, so cute watching 2 1/2 year old Jane put glue everywhere and watching almost seven year old Abigail, with her perfectionistic mind put her's together.
F. Getting take-out for every meal. Love PG Chang's take out and Olive Garden take-out!
G. Sleeping on the blow up bed in the front room.
H. Thinking so badly that Kirsha could really use the last of the leftover cheeecake (from Olive Garden), because after all she is nursing and she needs the calories, but no I am selfish and I LOVE cheesecake, so I ate every last bit. Then talking to her on the phone and I apologized for eating it and not leaving it for her and she says, "You earned that piece of cheesecake"! Kirsha, you are awesome! That's what sisters are for.
I. Getting to see Steve Young and going to his Sunday School class, good lesson!
Overall, an awesome experience!
Thanks for tuning in!

Just finished......The Eaves of Heaven
Here's a synopsis of the book, taken from Amazon.com
I loved the book, very interesting and I learned a lot about the history of Vietnam and the wars that took place there.
In a narrative set between the years of 1940 and 1976, Pham (Catfish and Mandala) recounts the story of his once wealthy father, Thong Van Pham, who lived through the French occupation of Indochina, the Japanese invasion during WWII, and the Vietnam War. Alternating between his father's distant past and more recent events, the narrative take readers on a haunting trip through time and space. This technique lends a soothing, dreamlike quality to a story of upheaval, war, famine and the brutality his father underwent following a childhood of privilege (And that strange year, the last of the good years, all things were granted. Heaven laid the seal of prosperity upon our land. We were blessed with the most bountiful harvest in memory). For those not familiar with Vietnamese history, Pham does an admirable job of recounting the complex cast of characters and the political machinations of the various groups vying for power over the years. In the end, he also gracefully delivers a heartfelt family history. (June) Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Where has the time gone?
Our oldest is 12!
Wow, our oldest child is 12 years old, I can hardly believe it. Where has the time gone.? This is Jacob having apple crisp for his birthdy dessert, which he requested. He came into this world screaming and he has never stopped, which is a positive trait. He is a vibrant, beautiful 12 year old who I love with all my heart. Today August 10th he was ordained a deacon. He has grown up way too fast. We were living in Altoona, PA when he was born. JD had just started his residency in family medicine. I love him because he is smart, he has a wonderful sense of humor, and he has a very compassionate side, he cares about those around him, he is a strong role model for his younger brothers and sister. He knows what is right and wrong and stands up for what he believes in. He is constantly asking questions and is a walking trivia book. My hopes and dreams for you are that you will use your talents wisely, love those around you and never give up, presevere and hold on to what you believe in.
Last Sunday Jay Dee was ordained a high priest because now he is second counselor in the bishopric.
I've had a real emotional time lately realizing that I am old enough to have a 12 year old boy and old enough to be married to a high priest. Ugh......
